For those of
who don’t know on July 22, 2005, Sean May, of
Hellbent Custom Fabrication was
taken from us while riding his bike. I first saw Sean’s work on
eBay, and immediately knew he was the guy to pull off the sickest
frame I had ever seen. The first time I spoke with him, I felt like
I had known him for ever. You could tell that he was in the business
cause he loved it. Sean’s shop is in southern Indiana bout six hours
from me. The first trip to his shop I remember seeing the “hellbent”
frame for the first time; it blew me away and in this industry
that's a hard thing to come by. The welds on the frame were perfect
ready for paint or powder coat, the gusset was hand cut and looked
like it had been
laser cut. When Sean would talk about the frame and his idea’s it
was like he could already see it in the wind on the road. In the
“chopper craze” these days its hard to find originality. It seems
that everyone's looking to get rich quick off somebody else’s
idea’s. No question this industry lost an innovator before his
prime. On one trip down there Sean had shown me these bars that he
was working on made of chain. He had said that his wife had come up
with the idea and he brought it to life. “Rolling the Dice” as Sean
called the frame on his site has now become “Hellbent” , my personal
bike and a tribute to his originality and work. Ride on Sean and
